Can someone please help id this part? I tried looking this up in the manual but cant seem to pin point it. Right above starter on left side. What is it? Should it be loose? Why is there a wire just dangling on the left side?

Tractor is L245DT

Looks like a tee fitting screwed into your block. Right side looks like a sending unit for a oil pressure Guage. Left looks like an oil sending unit to control the dummy light on the dash.

May be disconnected due to a bad sending unit so the light will stay off instead of on all the time.

Totally concur with Daren. Not exactly sure of the function of each sensor but def not factory. I also believe nothing totally nefarious is going on there. Trace the wires back to the gauge and light should five a good clue. Also the part numbers for the sensors should be on them although I admit the glasses would have to be used by me to see them.
