Might anyone be willing to share experience with a newbie on how to replace a bent axle on land pride DH 1572 please? Seems those trees can jump out in front of you and the axle on left rear gang is quite bent between the last 2 outside disks. Am I correct in believing the disks and spacers are like "stringing beads on a chain" and as long as I put things back in the current order on a new axle things should be good to go?
Many thanks to all that can help

You will need an impact wrench to remove the end nut, then it's just a matter of remembering the order of reassembly. Take some pics before and during removal of disc and bearings and that will help you remember where everything goes. And be careful, those disc can have very sharp edges

I would suggest to unbolt the brgs and drop disks & shaft out as an assembly. Then noting location of parts with a photo remove nut and unstring the assembly. If it were my disk I'd straighten shaft in a hyd press(BTDT) and reassemble using old shaft

Many thanks to both who answered my request for assistance. I plan to mark each piece with marker "by the numbers" and replace the axle with the new from ASC in Valdosta ($13) then reassemble the gang, which brings up another question.
Landpride's schematics say to stagger the notched blades in a spiral pattern. The gangs were purchased from a dealer and all appear to match with all notches lined up. Haven't checked, and disk is at camp so can't say or remember if the spiral will even be evident or matter. Guess I'll just have to try it out.
Thanks again for your input and assistance

I can see the reason for staggering the notches on the disk as it could give deeper penetration on disk as there would be less metal touching the soil at any one given time. In today's new part price's it difficult to imagine that a new shaft cost only $13.

I was stunned at the price. They only had one of the 1x 34 in stock, (had about 100 of various other sizes and lengths) so I bought the one and paid for another which they are shipping to my house at no additional shipping charge. Agri-supply Company in GA rocks. They have another store in Tifton and others scattered around. Also bought 4 sets of bearings in the flange for $11 each. I have tried other places but can't beat their price, and the store is right on the way to the hunt club
I also purchased the materials for electric fence for foodplots and they just beat all other sources I found.
