Has anyone had the need to have their L60 split in order to repair a drivetrain issue? Especially a cab tractor? How did the repair go and was the tractor assembled back to original condition? I kind of know the answer I would expect, but I'm hoping to be pleasently surprised.

My 78 hour L4060 is at the dealer for a driveline noise and I'm hoping it's related to the hydraulic pump (sounds like itermittent cavitation/starvation), but knowing my luck it'll have to be split for a more serious issue. In that instance, my ocd will make me trade it in for something else if I have to be honest.

Well if the techs are good ,you'll only notice a few paint chipped bolt heads..... At least with 78 hours on it , it'll be 100% covered under warranty.
Take lots of 'before' pictures and when you get it back, check to be sure everything works. USE it for several HOURS to be sure it is fixed. Also be sure to store the 'work sheet' as to what was wrong, just in case.

You make some good points. I don't have any repair history with this dealer so I'm just cautious.

I had to have my L5640 cab tractor split to replace leaking driveshaft seals.
I got quotes from a couple of local dealers. One said the cab had to be removed, the other said that is not required.
Saved me a big chunk of money by going with the second option.
They are a well-known reputable dealership and did a great job.
The only thing I noticed after the service is that the leak is gone!
