Hey guys, My G5200 HST Diesel is running hot lately, I can get about 45 minutes out of it before I have to let her cool down and top off the radiator. I first noticed it a couple weeks ago, and now am babying it every 30-45 minutes, so I dont let it overheat or run out of coolant. I keep the oil, filters & fluids checked and changed on a regular basis, but not understanding whats going on. Could this be a thermostat issue? What do you guys think?

sounds dumb but make sure that the radiator shroud isnt broken, mine on my BX25 broke and the fan wasnt pulling air through the radiator like it should. Just a thought.

You are mowing correct? then it starts to get hot, you have owned this tractor for a while and this is just starting to happen? I assume you keep the radiator screen clean? I bought a G5200 new in 1994 and my Mom has it now so I know the tractor. If you answered yes to all my questions, then more than likely you are having bearing failure, I would drop the belt off the deck (loosen tension) and start with the idler pulley, I have replaced this 2 times so far at about 700 hours on the tractor, other than that no major problems. Let me know how you make out or have more information.
