Hi folks,

I have a g4200 that I'm having issues with the key switch housing rotating in the hole in the dash when you twist the key to start it. There doesn't appear to be anything to keep it from rotating except tightening the nut on the outside of the dash.

I've seen other switches that have a washer between the switch and the mounting panel that has a tab that locates in another hole, which prevents rotation. I've also seen switches that have a key or notch in the switch that interfaces with the mounting panel and keeps the housing from rotating.

According to the last owner, this is a replacement switch from Kubota, as the mower was his deceased grandfather's and no one in the family knew where the key was located. So it may be the wrong switch.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

The keyswithch on the G4200 has to handle quite a bit of twisting since you turn LEFT and hold to glow.... then turn RIGHT to start.

If I recall correctly, there should be a 'flat' on the shaft of the keyswitch which mates to a 'flat' in the hole. However, my memory is waning and it may be a 'tab' which sticks into a locating-hole.

In any case, the keyswithch on G4200 should ABSOLUTELY be located mechanically (NOT just the nut on the shaft.)
