Hello,

there was a rear PTO for the G1800 / G1900 tractors available. It is driven by the splined shaft coming out of the auxiliary pump, contained a clutch and gear box and the clutch was operated with a lever on the left hand side of the seat via a wire.

What I am looking for is advice how to find operating / service instructions for this PTO.

I could not find anything in the tractor manual nor could I locate a separate operator manual just for the rear PTO. Although it is included in the G1900 parts manual I could not find anything in the service manual.

So is there a separate operator / service manual or is it maybe included in implements manuals?

A 1989 G1900 sales brochure mentiones the G4000 tiller but I could only find references to earlier tractors on the internet.

Can anybody shed light on this?

It seems the rear PTO is even rarer than the three point hitch.

Does nobody have any information?

At the moment I would like to know if 80W90 gear oil or UDT hydraulic fluid is used in the gear box.

And it seems the G4100 tiller was used later. Anybody has a manual of that? It may include the PTO manual.

Can you post some pics of your rear PTO set up? Forgive me if you have already.
I have not installed it yet. But attached are pictures I found on the internet. The rear PTO must be rarer than the three point hitch, this is the only tractor I found on the internet that had it installed.

Rear PTO lever is actually on the left side of the seat, this was missing in the kit I bought, so have to make one myself. The engine drive shaft for the PTO comes out behind the auxiliary pump, there is a cover over it from the factory.

Problem with the Cat.0 PTO is that it runs at 2000rpm, whereas Cat.1 and above PTO speed is 540rpm. And the PTO spline is different to the other PTO drives on the tractor. There seem to be plenty of implements for Cat.0 available in the USA but in Europe it is virtually impossible to find anything. I still decided to stick to Cat.0 and the 2000rpm but that means I will have to do a lot of DIY.

Cool, Thanks for the pics. So is that driven from the front PTO or the small splines out of the rear of the tractor?

The rear PTO is a small gearbox bolted behind the differential that is driven from the splined shaft behind the auxiliary pump in the drive gearbox. This shaft is an extension of the wheel drive u-joint shaft coming from the engine. It has nothing to do with the mid or front PTO which are driven by the v-belts at the front of the engine.
