FEL Control Lever Gone "Squishy"

Hey guys, I'm back and need advise/help. I've been using my BX1870 thus far this summer with absolutely no problems (apart from a dirty fuel filter, which I replaced).

This afternoon I went to use the BX and the first thing I noticed once it had warmed up was that the FEL control lever had gone "squishy" in the up tilt mode - up tilt on the BX1870 is moving the lever to the left, moving it all the way to the left puts the bucket in the float position.

The lever is normal in its movements up/down and to the right; it automatically springs back to center when released.

When the lever is moved to the left there is no resistance, no spring back to center.

I've searched the forum for this same sort of problem but was not able to find anything specific though I seem to remember having read about this specific issue on this forum previously.

I would be very grateful for any words of wisdom and thanks very much.

My BX loader shop manual has plenty of scoop about the control lever. However you can see there are 4 springs. I suspect one is broken.

Note that this is not just a simple valve that you can replace. The guts of it are way down inside. A complicated thing to say the least. There are rods that can be adjusted, so maybe that is all that is wrong. Looks like a shop visit.

Thankee cerlawson. You were the one that helped me out when my fuel filter got gummed up.

I suspect you may be right and that it is a broken spring. The BX is still under warranty though I don't relish the thought of trailering it there and then having to wait however long before they get it fixed... however, since it is under warranty I would probably be better off to let the dealer deal with it rather than me.

Thanks again and best regards,
