I have traced a leak in the coolant system to the lower engine water pipe. Thought it was the Rad - but the rad is sound - good news!

The machine is a B7000 - two cylinder, and the lower pipe needs removal, cleaning up and re-sealing.

The water pipe contains a couple of notches in the end and threaded into the engine block. Looks like it's gonna be a bit of a bitch to get this one out. It's in a tight spot.

Do I need a special tool? Any advice?

Thanks

Success!

Thought I'd just post how I got this out; someone may have a similar problem sometime.

I heated the metal pipe, sticking out of the engine block, with blow torch and soaked for a couple of hours with Lub. I cut a piece of scaffolding pipe (12 inch) and inserted a square bar, found in door locks between handles, in one end of the pipe This size bar was the perfect size for the lugs gut into the end of the circular water pipe, and is hardened steel. I drilled a larger hole in the other end of the scaff. pipe and inserted a 5ft metal lever.

I decided - all or nothing - it's either gonna come out of break-off. One hell of a push on the 5ft lever did the trick. She came out real slow.

The pipe is corroded between the threads explaining why coolant was leaking from the system

Just need to locate a spare or even get one made up. A simple enough piece to make.
