Edge Tamers sizing question

From positive feedback here and elsewhere, I'm set on getting a pair of Edge Tamers to keep my loader bucket from picking up gravel and gouging my lawn while moving snow this winter.

With a BX1870, they're steering me toward two of the 3" model. But given the slight difference in price ($5 each), I'm wondering if there's any reason not to get the larger 4" model. Mfg. says it's overkill for my needs. But I'm leaning that way regardless since I'm concerned about "float" when the ground beneath the snow isn't frozen. That probably won't be a problem on my gravel drive, but I also have to clear about an 80 yard path to my woodpiles, mostly over uneven lawn. Some of it gets pretty soft.

Anyone with a BX have much experience with Edge Tamers? If so, any reason NOT to go with the 4" model, or should I save $10 and stick with the 3" that's intended for my tractor? (Getting three of either size is another option recommended for larger/heavier tractors, but I'm too cheap to start out with three.)

I don't think it will hurt anything; in fact, I had decided to go with 3 of the 4" tamers to try with my soft cinder driveway with my 42" wide bucket.

Thanks for the reply. Have you had a chance to try them out yet?

I have the 4'' size on my bx1850.. If you look under the testimonails on the site, look for steve R from york PA.. They worked very well for me last winter with no digging...

Unfortunately, no. Too many family medical obligations/issues to deal with at this time. Not sure I'll even know how to start my Kubota, if I ever get back to it. It's been a long time.
I'm hoping they will work, my driveway cinders can be pretty soft (picture beach sand) until they get packed in.
