I have recently purchased a L1-235DT and would like to correspond with someone who has the same model as I haven't found a workshop manual for this model of tractor.
My PTO has never worked and the previous owner has been rather silent about the history of the PTO not working. Does this model have a PTO release/restrictor lever ?? as I found a bolt on the side of the gearbox with a hose clamp and a bunch of rubber seals wrapped around it to prevent a leak ?? was there a restrictor lever mounted on this bolt ??

You're not getting many responses. I don't know your tractor but it does appear to have a PTO based on info at Tractor Data. It appears to have a multi speed PTO so there should be what appears to be a second gearshift to select PTO speed ranges. 540 is the one normally used. I don't know about any flow restrictors as the PTO is normally driven off the driveline power. What little I know came from the relevant page on Tractor Data: https://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/008/1/6/8167-kubota-l1-235.html

Thank you for that. I split the tractor to overhaul the engine as well as it was getting tired and had lost compression, as well as fitting a new clutch etc.
I am trying to get in contact with someone who the same model same model tractor so we can discuss the problem.
I have placed a camera inside the gearbox and it has a plate with a Inverted "T" of which is some type of selector that moves up and down to lock the PTO. This is controlled by a lever on the side of the gearbox housing. This part is missing of which is the PTO restrictor/safety. There is a bolt here that I found with a Hose clamp on it and bunch of rubber O rings that appears to a bit dodgy ?? I am sure there was a lever mounted here at some stage, that has been removed
