I just purchased a BX1880 with 86 hours and a mower attached. I am not sure which direction to turn the control dial to lower the mower? The mower is about 5 inches off the gorund. I do not want to break the dial or twist the shaft. I will have to use some large pliers to turn the plastic dial.

Is the deck/3 point hitch lifted all of the way to the top? It has to be up to rotate the dial.

The lower the number, the lower the deck.

Yes lift the deck all the way,,, Also if it will not turn shoot some WD40 or the like on the shaft and then try lifting until the pump starts to squeal and turn the knob then sometimes the piece that is behind the latch gets bound up and a little nuge like that will help it to move,, I hope this helps

Hold the raise lever until not only the mower deck is fully raised but the 3 point arms are all the way up. You'll hear a change in the hydraulic sound and the engine will lug a bit. Then you can turn the knob. And the knob only turns clockwise.

It took me few tries to figure that out too.

As stated lift deck/3pt all way up then adjust as needed.

Also if you are taking the mower deck off make sure you lift the gear all way up (once the mower is removed) and set dial to highest number that way your mower hook ups won't drag when raising/ lowering your 3pt hitch
