I'm coming up to my 50 hour service. I am confident I can accomplish this myself. I took a look at the transmission oil filter and it appears that I might run into a problem with the skid plate. There only appears to be one or two inches of space for the filter to be pulled out before hitting the edge of the skid plate. Does the skid plate have to be removed? Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't have a skid plate on my 2360, so I cant help, but Im thinking that would be a mess to clean up cause I don't think you could get your catch tub under enough to catch every thing, though I have been wrong before,,, make sure you pull the filter screen out too and clean it,,
Be careful that you don't kink bend tear or other wise mutilate the thing,, wash it clean in some non flammable cleaner (no water),,,
yeah I don't follow my own advice I used gas,,
replace it and please don't over tighten the bolt that holds it in place,,, change the filter, fill and your done.
Start it up and let her run for a bit before taking off and mowing or something,, shut her down and check the fluid level again, add if you need some..
