I just purchased a 6-year old BX2816 Snowblower for my BX23s
3/4 of the impeller housing area is bare metal..... The bottom is kinda rough.
Should I just coat the area in something like fluid film? Or Wax? Or some other suggestion.
OR should I take it apart and sand and re-paint it.
That impeller housing area is always a area that usually gets the paint worn away.... so I don't think my rattle can primer/paint job will last too long.
What I have always done is use a spray on wax.... preseason and this has helped my 18-year old walk behind snowblower.

Working on a stone driveway, my BX2750D snowblower looks like that every spring. Been that way for 12 years.

Same for my JD425 tractor and snowblower for 12 years before that….

I use the rattle can touch up.

I don’t believe disassembly and sanding the blower is time well-spent.

Will look the same after a few sessions in November or December…..

Here is my opinion and what I do with my b2782b snow blower. I decided not to repaint it because its just going to wear off the next winter season. After the winter season I will wash the blower then after its dry, i will grease everything and give all the bare metal a coating of rust preventative like a light oil or spray wax like boeshield T-9.
