BX2360 & Titan Chipper - Make Sense?

Looking for thoughts and ideas, but probably not a sanity check as that ship sunk some time ago.

I'm considering getting a Titan 25 inch chipper for my BX2360. I think EMB Wallenstein is the “standard” but it's way out of my price range; hence maybe the Titan.

I have a small amount of land (2-1/2 acre) but seem to generate a lot of wood trash. Currently, I cut all my branches to 4ft in length and tie up multiple ~25 to 40 pound bundles of branches. Then, once a month, I load the bundles into the back of my car, and take them, in multiple trips, to the township for disposal. Ideally, I'd just make a pile of branches and let them compost, but with only 2.5 acres and too many neighbors that's not realistic.

So, if I get a Titan chipper.....
* Am I expecting too much from a BX2360 ? Will this overload and kill my Kubota ?
* Can the BX2360 power this chipper okay or will I be waiting a lot for recovery between branches ?
* Anyone have experience (good or bad) with Titan – do they hold up ?
* Is this a foolish was to spend my (limited) $ ?

As for experience, I've never used a chipper but regularly use things like a chain saw to drop trees, use a post hole digger, do most maintenance, etc. I expect a learning curve but should be able to use one.
Thanks!

If you look in my About section I have a WoodMaxx with hydraulic feed and paired with the BX2370 it's a monster. I don't know how that'll work with a Chinese chipper.

One thing to look for is the chipper will blow chips "far enough" since that's a weak point of 3-point-hitch chippers; the WoodMaxx can blow around 15', making a chute so it could blow further stalled out the low-pressure high-volume fan and was worse than no chute. (Though thinking of it I should probably adjust the shoot wider and that should keep the fan from stalling out.)

Woodmaxx looks like another quality machine that price-wise is unobtainium for me.

Not sure what price point you’re looking at with Titan. Only 25” I saw on their website was a gravity feed unit “on sale” for $2k. I would find another $500 somewhere and go with the similar Woodland Mills TFG55. Both appear to be light enough for the rated capacity of your 3pt hitch, and both are within your HP rating. Worst case, if you manage to feed it something which causes it to require more power than your tractor can provide, it would stall the engine, but that wouldn’t break anything and isn’t likely anyway. So, no a chipper that size shouldn’t damage your tractor.

Nothing against WoodMaxx; didn’t see anything in their offerings that wasn’t a good bit more expensive.

Titan has sort of a Harbor Freight reputation. Continuing that analogy, Woodland Mills and WoodMaxx may not be Snap-on but they’re at least Craftsman. As always, YMMV.

hmm, possible options
1) rent a chipper for a day. has to be cheaper than buying a chipper, storing it, etc.

2) make friends with an arborist. trade a space for him to dump a truck load of mulch in exchange for chipping your brush.

3) find a local who WANTS your brush to make his chips/mulch

But where's the fun in that??? :D

The end result there is that you eventually wind up with more mulch than you can handle, and you still have that wood trash being created.

That's even IF you can find an arborist who wants the deal. Might depend on your area, but around here, they have plenty of options for just dumping.

This exact problem is why I love my burn barrel. But that's not an option in some parts of the country, of course.
