This one might sound strange but I can't find a way to get in and out of the backhoe comfortably. If I start right foot on step to put my left foot on left pad where it belongs, then I can't turn my foot to get my right leg over to it's proper place....Every time I get out I get caught on the left lever. Is there a good way to get in and out of this thing where you don't need to be a gymnast?

Haha. It’s so true. I don’t get caught if I do it slow, but I did nearly hang myself upside down from the control stick caught on my cargo pocket the other day while rushing to finish a trench before sunset. I thought to myself how dangerous that setup is. Easily could have knocked myself out with the boom or worse.

The best way to get on or off the hoe is very carefully, remember it's a subcompact machine!

I put stair tread grip tape on each of the stabilizers hydraulic cylinders. When getting on the BH, I set the stabilizer to be more or less horizontal with the ground and then use the resulting giant 'platform' of the hydraulic cylinder to make it easier to get up and climb on.

Yep, if I am sore, I use the stabilizers as steps too!

The stair tread grip sounds like a good plan. I have a few rolls of very coarse tape that I put on my ship floor in front of the table saw. I bet that will fit the stabilizers perfectly. Thanks to all
