bx22d belt too short

Replacing the fan alt. eng. belt could not see numbers on belt so I looked up number V BELT 16241-97010 bought one put it on and its too long it was an amazon belt so I looked up length 3/8 x37.5 and bought another belt making sure it was the right length put it on still to long dont know what I am missing here. Guess I'm gonna take original belt to auto parts store and have them match it. Its a pain in the ass to change this thing any ideas fellas.

answerd my own question went to the auto parts store they measured the belt that came off of it and measured 37'' I went with a 3/8 x 37'' belt fit perfect Stock belt has numbers I can bearly read 2870 9.5x940mm 9.5mm is .37 inches and 940mm is 37.01 inches I didnt even look at the belt just orderd the one the part number said fit by Kubota hope this helps some one down the line.

What's weird is that Messicks says 35.5" when you look it up as does a few others on the internet google search. Curious, did the alternator move to the center of the adjustment arm ?
