This is a 2003 BX2200. When I first got it did some ditch work with the loader, then one of the lift cylinder started leaking. I bought a seal kit for both cylinders and had a professional rebuild the cylinders. Now, after another day of work with the front loader, the bucket tilt cylinder is leaking. I know its a case of old seals, I bought the tractor last year from the original owner.

Just seeing if anyone has either replaced the seals them selves in the bucket tilt cylinder or maybe got another cylinder from some place like Tractor supply? Replacement cylinder from Kobota is close the 1K and not going that rout.

thoughts?

I replaced the seals on the curl cylinder on my LA211 a couple of years ago. The only difficult part was getting the end cap off, it requires a spanner tool to unscrew it from the end of the cylinder barrel. The parts aren't that expensive and should be available from Messicks. The only other difficult part might be getting the nut off the cylinder rod, as it can be pretty tight. I held the end in a big vise and used a 1/2" air impact to get it off. Once that's off, it's pretty straightforward to replace the seals in the gland and the packing seals on the piston. I think it only took me a little over an hour to rebuild it once I had it off the tractor.
You will need the cylinder part number off the barrel to get the correct seal kit, as there are a couple of different cylinders used on the LA211.

Thanks, dlsmith, any special tools? I was gonna do the lift cylinders myself but it required a special tool. Any issue with these seals off and on?

Alrighty, if anyone is paying attention,

I got the cylinder removed, and taken apart. The seal kit I got from Kubota is 75596-43300, my cylinder is 75596-64011.
I was able to get most seals off without too much trouble. I guess the dirt seal, the one exposed to the outside world in the head, was the one leaking real bad, it just fell apart. The one below it in the head did almost the same thing but I was able to retrieve most of it intact. I am assuming these are the original seals from the factory.

I removed all the internal seals and laid them all out according to how they were in the cylinder. Compared the new seals to them and laid them out the same way. I now have two extra seals, a small O ring that it looks like goes between the rod and piston. The other, according to the diagram, looks like it goes on the piston with the two other I think, wear seals? but, when I removed the old seals, there was no ring O ring with the wear seals.

So get everything back in place, the hardest one was the dirt seal in the outside end of the head, which looked different than what I removed. The old seal, from what I can tell, looked to be a light color plastic? this new seal is formed rubber with like a small lip. I go to put the head back on the rod and its not going, looks like the rod is hitting that new outside dirt seal. I realize it might take a bit of effort but holy cow, I just cant get this head back on the rod. Was about to use my press but the jack on my press is dead, need a new one.

Am I doing something wrong? got the wrong seal kit, am just too wimpy to get this all back together?? what the heck??
