Bx mower deck question

I took the mower deck off today to clean it up and saw a piece of metal bolted to the front of the deck on one side. I see bolt holes on the other but there is no metal reinforcement there. Is that strip of metal supposed to go on both sides?

Its purpose is to increase suction to raise the grass before cutting. I have never seen a deck with it on the RH side.

The BX2370 only has it on one side.

Awesome, thanks. I thought I lost it somewhere while mowing. I was wondering how I didnt notice a huge metal bar laying in the yard or field. Lol

Yes it is suppose to be there however mine came off and got caught in the blade,I thought about beating it out or making another one,, thats been ohhhhh 10 years ago it still aint on and it works just fine,,,just MHO you understand

If that came off while mowing you'd know it immediately, unless you have a metal lawn you are mowing

I've had a piece of my deck break loose and get caught by the blade on my T2380. Yikes, evil sound
