I am new to the forum. Need some advise please-
I have a BX 2660 with Curtis cab and 52 inch wide snowblower. The noise inside is extreme, even with ear plugs. Is this normal? Thanks!

I have a BX24 (essentially same tractor) with pto (rear mounted) 52" Kubota snowblower.
I don't have a cab, but I have no (zero) noise or vibration from the snowblower. The noise is only from the engine, and at high operating rpm there is no vibration.
Certainly a cab will seem to contain and amplify any noise/vibrations.

Is your blower front mounted or pto ? I have read other posts here and on TBN that front mounted blowers on the BX are noisy. I don't understand why.

I am guessing but does your tractor have more than one pto speed?
If it does are you running it at the correct speed?

Thanks for the response uglyboy! Front PTO mounted Kubota blower. I was incorrect saying vibration. Just hi pitched noise from drive?

I have a 2650 SB that is pretty noisy when operating. You might have a bearing going out. The flange bearings in these things don't seem very stout considering the RPMs they turn. I'm thinking of breaking mine down over the summer and replacing all the bearings as a preventive measure.

On the BX the hydro whine is pretty noisy it comes up the ROPS. Now that I have found with mine is put the bad girl in low range wide up the RPM and go for it. The whine at least in mine seems to drop off in low range in high range it howls. Also when you do your fluid change go to the Super UDT and that also seemed to quiet mine down a tad as well

OK, Farmer Mak...

do you get the same extreme noise when the snowblower is not engaged ?
That should tell you if you've got a bad bearing, or 'normal' BX hydro whine.

Most whine when I step on the forward drive pedal. The blower makes a different sound and not as loud. Thanks all for the responses!!
