Hi I have over 2,000 hours on my BX 2660. I have been having issues with the factory fuel filters. I used to be able to get over at least 200 hours on both fuel filters but I'm having to install a new one less than 5 hours apart. The reason is because it starves for fuel. Once I install a new filter it runs like a dream until a few hours and then starves for fuel again, change the filter and then everything's fine, is there another underlying problem that is causing this? Every fuel additive I've used I put plenty in but I still have no good luck. And if there are any good recommendations for additives or a solution that would be great!

Thanks
Finnagan

What do the filters look like when you change them; dark or clean and clear?
Are you changing both filters each time?
Does this happen when the tank is just partially full, or does it happen even if full?
I’m just guessing there’s an obstruction in the tank/lines, or maybe the electric lift pump has given up. Again, just guessing.
Do you hear the lift pump clicking when you turn the key?
Have you ever pulled the fuel line from the tank and let it flow to make sure there’s a good flow out?
Have you ever pulled the fuel inlet to the front to see if you have flow while running the lift pump?
Sorry for so many questions, but a lift pump is easy.
If it’s an obstruction at the tank, which could be a corroded outlet and sending unit, or some trash obstructing the outlet, it’s not so easy.

take off fuel cap. hold a rag over the filler hole. Disconnect fuel line where it connects to your primary fuel filter. Shoot compressed air through it (backwards) into your fuel tank. best to do this with the tank about half full. Let it blow and gurgle for a few minutes. then allow the fuel to drain onto a bucket or a catch pan. Look at all the crap that you just flushed out. If it is a LOT of rust.... you may want to start looking for a new tank.

If its just a little rust.... you can put nuts and bolts in the tank and roll it around a jillion times (I saw a man tie his tank to the rear tire of a riding mower and ride around with it) then dump all the crap out of it.

All BX models have a plastic fuel tank, just wash it out.

Check the old filters for rust. If rust is present it's a good bet your fuel gauge sending unit is rusted out & plugging up the the fuel line.. Well known issue with the BX's
