I have an old bush hog that I used on my old ford just fine. The bush hog has a six spline shaft coming out of it. My new to me Kubota has a six spline coming out of it. My PTO shaft has six spline on both ends. The first hurdle is the the coupler at the end of the shaft connects via a bolt/pin going through the center of it and my tractor PTO in the new style with no hole. I know that I can switch out the end/coupler for around $50 and then probably end up needing a new joint for another $30 or so. That would make the shaft work but with spline on both end I have no shear pin and do no want to damage the tractor. Knowing all of that, is there a way to adapt the shaft that I would really like to keep, it is old and solid. I know a slip clutch would also be an option if one will fit on my tractor and I could find one with a hole shaft. I appreciate any clever solutions you might have!

You could use a 1.3/8 spline to 1.3/8 spline slip clutch adapter on the implement end. I have one on my brush hog 1.3/8 smooth to 1.3/8 smooth and it works well. It replaced a pto shaft made for shear bolt.
Cat 4 driveline sized should be $80-150 ish
