Hi everyone, I'm new here. Used the forum a few times, lots of good info on here and finally thought I'd join up. I picked up my new project last year, a late model B8200DT with a factory loader and rear mount blower. The tractor has been great, and I have been doing some maintenance to get it all sorted. The only thing that I wished I had was power steering. So I've been looking at info on what others have done as the factory power assist was very rare and expensive. So I was trying to find a solution, then came across Fatjay's thread about him using a custom power steering setup. I am trying a different route and scored a b9200/b2150 power steering unit with the pitman arm and drag link. Is there anyone out there that has attempted this upgrade? The only thing im in need of right now is one of the power steering lines from a b9200hst "66363-41610". If anyone is parting out one or has the part please send me a message.

Sounds like a cool project!

Wish I more info, but I don't.

Could you have that line made locally? That might be easier/cheaper/faster?

Don't forget to post pics of your project......we love pics!!!!

Good morning- In my area there are several places that can make custom hydraulic hoses. I'm familiar with 2 of them, they're auto parts stores. They have hose, all kinds of fittings, and the equipment to put it all together. I THINK at least one of them is a NAPA auto parts store-

Good luck with your project, Steve

Right on, thanks for the replies. There isnt much space to run crimped hydraulic lines without them all getting in the way. I obtained two nos lines but one is for an hst and the other is for a geared one. The geared one is too long. I was debating on trying to modify it as well but i feel its easier to just get the right line. I dont want crimps and bunch of fittings that will leak over time. These original hard lines will last (in theory) for the life of the tractor. Besides all the linkages and stuff in the way its tedious to stuff it all in there. Are there any good known salvage yards people can recommend? I read somewhere on these forums a member, MountainMan has a bunch of kubota's?

Might send a message to "Mountainman" on this forum. He has some salvaged tractors in Alabama (I think).

Ok so I had some more time to make some progress, so the column/box itself lines up on all 4 studs on the trans housing. Geared units have a flat angled top whereas the hst have a "dished" top. the hst also has longer studs from factory. I point this out because the b9200/b2150 power steering gearbox has a wider casting so it may have issues installing on an b8200 hst. 2 holes will need to be drilled on the tunnel itself as the power unit has 2 dowels installed. You could try to remove the dowels but i figure they are there for a reason so i'd rather drill it.

I was trying to test fit the fuel tank but it will need to cut and welded or put a different tank in. Looking over the catalog the b9200 fuel tank or b7200 manual (geared) fuel tank. Would anyone have the dimensions on the b7200 manual geared tank? It looks tall and skinny and might be the better choice.

Well sadly I ran out of time on this project , due to needing the machine back in service and with very little info and help out there I had to put it on the back burner till next year. Also seems as though its easier to just notch and weld the stock fuel tank because it solves so many other snowballing issues. The tank i have is in such good shape honestly I'd rather not cut it up and weld it. Does anyone have a b6200hst, b7200hst, b8200D & b8200hst fuel tank to sell?

Also if there are any others on here that want to do this. I have been in contact with an asian aftermarket manufacturer that is willing to make the lines brand new but need a minimum quantity order

Making steel lines s not rocket science or expensive. That said I would be looking hard at custom hose. Unless that is some really crazy tight routing its far simpler and cheaper.

Not sure how similar a B7100 is to yours but I finished not long ago putting hydro steering in mine. Quick guesstimate was bout $500. Used steering wheel, column, orbital valve Nd cylinder off a John Deere 318. Used tractors hydro, and only issue (which I knew going in) was can use one or the other, meaning bucket or steering. But really not big a deal. The steering has plenty of power, I was steering it with the rear tires just about off the ground.
