Guys, I have a 1984 B7100 recently acquired. Not sure of the hours, since meter is broken. But it starts and runs great, even up here in Michigan. I do get some blow by. I checked compression cold with a Harbor Freight tester. Cylinder 1 was 360psi, cylinder 2 was 320 psi and cylinder 3 was 370. Should I be alarmed? But like I mentioned it runs great, smokes a bit until warmed up. Thanks for any advice!

Make sure your glow plugs all are working and live life. The compression is a bit low but as long as it still starts ok you should be good to go. Starting is where you'll usually feel low compression the most as it will slowly become harder and harder to start.

At long as it starts and runs, run it!

Also, don't use ether to start it. Kubotas don't like that...

Enjoy your new toy and welcome to the forum!

Kind regards,

Steve
