I recently acquired a B7100 with no battery in it, I got a new battery, but cannot install it as there is no positive/negative indication on the cables, they are both black? Any way to know the negative side???

Also, need new front tires, I am not planning on going with fluid in them, any tire suggestions, should I go tubeless as I am having the wheels blasted and painted to remove all paint and rust.

Thank you,

With no battery, I'm assuming no hold down either. Easy to fabricate from a small piece of alum or steel angle, and a couple of conventional 1/4-20 "J" studs from any auto parts store.
Also, a piece of 1/8" or 1/4" rubber sheet under the battery will help with battery life.

Good advice.

Camtender, while you are figuring out where those cables go, check them very carefully for corrosion or breaks. Remember that corrosion can wick up under the insulation. Bad cables will cause a host of very frustrating problems.

If you decide to replace them, check out BestBoatWire.com. When I need battery cables, that's where I go. I like to get the clear heat shrink on the ends, so I can see what's going on under the hood (so to speak) over time.

Just figure out your gauge, length, and connectors, and order what you need. Good service and good prices.

EDIT TO ADD: Use some good military style battery terminals on them, not those garbage 'fix-it' battery terminals you find in the grocery store.

Thank you very much, just getting into tractors with basic questions
Depending upon how much room is available, I like to install batteries inside plastic “marine” battery-boxes. A strong all-rubber bungee can hold the box down with the battery inside.
