I've just bought a log splitter with male 1/2 inch quick release couplings. My B7000 tractor does not have aux hydraulics fitted.

I'm going to cut into the high pressure line, as shown in Dept Vic's video, and add two female quick release couplings.

What do you do when the splitter is taken off the tactor? You cannot have the high pressure line cut, with two female couplings not attached to anything! This will disrupt the flow of fluid.

Or to put it another way:

How can I have the cut lines going to the back of the tractor, so I can fit/unfit the splitter, but the tractor continues to operate normally, if the splitter is attached or not? Do I need some sort of aux box, with a tap to divert fluid to the splitter when attached?

Hope this makes sense! :D

Thanks.

The quickest, easiest fix would be to have a small 'jumper' hydraulic hose built that once the splitter has been removed can be plugged into the quick disconnects restoring the integrity of the line and hydraulic power to the 3 point.

Easy, right!
Thanks Vic...obvious really. :)
