My B26 has power to the back wheels ONLY when the differential lock is depressed. And, with the lock depressed, the tractor acts as if it has a normal differential : if traction is unequal, the wheel with the less traction spins and the tractor wont move. I have about 900 hours. I presume the problem is with the differential, and any suggestions are appreciated.
With front wheels engaged, the front works fine and does the pulling. The shift changes range and the HST works as it should.
Additionally, I am starting to break the tractor down for maintenance. I have the maintenance manual. Assuming the problem is with the differential, do I need to follow all the disassembly steps and separate the entire transmission from the center frame, or can I just remove the seats and fenders and dig into the differential?
