Having looked through the WSM is this just a case of slackening alternator and replacing the belt ensuring timing mark is correct?

No need to be concerned with timing marks when replacing alternator/water pump belt.

Cheers Dave, it’s maybe a quicker easier job than I thought then. I couldn’t actually find the procedure in the WSM just various others stating slackening the alternator and remove the belt!
