Hi All, New to the Orange Tractor scene, Just got a 1995 B1700 HSD with the LA301 FEL. Was dealer serviced prior to buying and all fluids were changed. Im looking for opinions on what is the best lubricant for the front differential/axle. From what I see, either UDT or 80W90 gear oil can be used, each having pros and cons. Im located in Quebec Canada, the tractor is going to be worked all winter clearing snow with the FEL (and hopefully a blower if I can get a good deal on one) average temp here is approc -10c during winter.
Tractor has 1000 Hrs on it, and there is a very slight seepage from the front drive shaft input to the diff. Would 80W90 be more appropriate in this circumstance? or will the thicker oil generate higher pressure in the non vented axle case causing further seal degredation?
Any info is greatly appreciated!
