I searched for a cab last fall after getting a snow blower, too pricey for me. I made one from plywood and lexan that comes off with 6 bolts. $600 with electric heat and a defroster fan. Took about a week sourcing materials and construction. Works great but is very loud inside I use ear protection.

Would it be possible for you to send me pics of it or even post them. Please

My DIY cab was completed in early 2013 at a cost of about $1,200 and something in excess of 150 hours. It's all steel with tinted automotive safety glass. It has two hinged doors that lift off, and a heater connected to the tractor cooling system that keeps it warm on the coldest nights. It was built in sections for removal/reinstallation but removing the doors in hot weather works well enough I haven't bothered the past two summers.

I have some pictures on my phone but don't know how to put them up here. I'm no computer guru to say the least.

I can't take any with my digital camera because I took the cab off today. It's in 5 pieces and stored away.

I watched the build as you posted, amazing job. I was going to do similar until I started pricing steel and glass. The glass company near me quoted $1100 for tinted safety glass!! Too rich for me on a fixed income. I would like a different heater. The electric will warm it up but not enough to run coatless.

Thank you. We built one for a tractor at work this year and I was really surprised the glass was over $700. It had more glass than mine, but I'm glad this cab was paid for by the company.
