Hello, my 900X has developed an annoying rubbing sound in the steering column, it sounds like it's just behind the strg wheel. It sounds like a dry bearing.
The steering turns just fine and the column is tight.
I think I could solve this if I could get lube into it but so far my spraying long the column has not helped.
Does anyone have ideas on how to get lube into there?
Thanks to all who answer and everybody take care in this heat.

Remove the steering wheel and replace the bushing, it's at the top of the column. The new bushing may be different than what you have as there was an ungraded one released.
Mark the steering wheel position so you get it back on straight the first time.

What tools do I need to pull the wheel? I have never done that before.

What tools do I need to pull the wheel? I have never done that before.
I use a 20 oz ball pean harmer and a 3/4" x 6" brass drift. Pop the center out of the steering wheel with a screwdriver, loosen the retaining nut to flush with the end of the steering shaft. I put my left foot on the fender well, right foot on the brake pedal, and press up under the steering wheel with as much pressure as I can, then set the drift punch on the end of the steering shaft/nut and smack it smartly with the hammer.
It usually only takes a couple of smacks and the wheel pops up off of the tapered spline.

Turn the steering wheel straight and not the location of the steering wheel spokes for reassembly. Remove the nut and washer, lift off the steering wheel. The bushing is now visible.
R&R the bushing, using soapy water on the outside of the bushing to aid in installation.
Set the steering wheel back on the spline. Now, before tightening the nut, drive the RTV slowly in a straight line to see if the steering wheel is back on straight. If it's not, lift it up, turn it to straight, and set it back onto the shaft. Repeat until it is correct, then install and snug the retaining nut, reinstall the wheel center.
