Good evening members from a warm and sunny southern Spain.

I'd be extremely grateful for your advice.

I'm a golf course owner, who decided to purchase a Kubota 7060 for general work around my course, and ordered it from a local dealer around 6 weeks ago.

The day before yesterday, the new machine was delivered - unfortunately I couldn't be there, but I noticed yesterday morning that they'd in fact delivered a 7040, albeit with the 74 hp engine.

Here's the problem. I ordered a 7060 because I knew it was brand new to the market - other than that, I could easily have managed with something 2/3 years old.

I immediately contacted the dealer to ask what had happened - their explanation is that the 7060 only comes with a cabin.

I may well be wrong, but my fear is that they've sold me something ex-stock which would be absolutely infuriating.

I've checked Google Images, and there seem to be plenty of cabless examples, and have been reassured by the main dealers in the south of Spain that I've got the right machine. In addition, we made an enquiry to the Sales Director of Madrid 's main dealer who seemed to confirm that in Spain, we've been given the right machine.

However, something's ringing alarm bells within me, and I can't believe I need to ask you guys whether I've got the correct model, or not.

Your advice would be very gratefully received.

I don't know whether a little more information might encourage someone to help/advise me.

My name is Rory Leader, and I'm the owner of Estepona Golf - www.esteponagolf.com
The 7040 that's been delivered has the serial number 94773.

I can't speak to what you ordered or what you should have gotten (in Spain, naturally).

I will say, at least here, that a L60 series is a 2014. An L40 is 2013 and older (not sure when the starting year of the L40 series is). So, that sounds bad, like you got an old model. However, an L60 has a DPF system. It is my opinion that you do NOT want that system. People here are/were scrambling to get the 40 series (i.e. last year's model) in order to NOT have the DPF (diesel particulate filter - is that right?). I have no idea when the DPF systems roll out in other countries, I can only speak for here in the US.

I know it's easy for me to say, but I wouldn't sweat it and be glad you skated by without the DPF. I bought a used tractor, at least partially, so I didn't have the DPF. It's a new system, there are normally problems with a new system. Search here, you'll see.

Hope that helps.

It's really hard to say one way or the other as some models will be different from one country to anther. Here in the United States, the 7060 is offered in either open station or cab.

As mentioned, most people are looking for new L40/M40 to avoid DPF, but they are hard to find.

Thanks aeblank and TripleR for your help. I take your point, and based on what you say, I'm ok with sticking with the 7040 - it's just that I'd like to get to the bottom of whether the agent has deliberately sold me an outdated model for whatever reason.

I can't argue with that one, but i doubt you'll ever truly know. Good luck. Enjoy your orange.

I don't speak Spanish, but you might try here, I know some models are available in some countries and not others.

The 7040 really isn't considered so much as an outdated version as one might think. There are some differences like improved shifting and a 12/12 transmission available and of course the DPF on the M60 that many wish to avoid.

Thanks again guys. That's a hugely useful link to the Spanish site - I didn't spot it, so I'll see what they say on Monday morning.

The 40 should have cost less than the 60. Did you ask the dealer what the cost difference was? More importantly did you have to pay for the 60, but received the 60?

The course looks nice, would be fun to play there some day

That's the crux of the problem. I contracted the 60, including the corresponding price, but got the 40 delivered. I'll get on to the link TripleR gave me tomorrow.
