hey guys,
I'm new to this site. I purchased a b2920 about about 7 months ago with the 60" MMM, FEL, and rear blade. I'm due for my 50 hour maintenance and was wondering how many of you did your own first 50 hour maintenance? For warranty purposes do i have to bring it to the dealer to perform the first one or can i do it myself?
thanks in advance

Just my two cents worth - I'm just about to my 50 hr as well. The maintenance isn't mandated to be done by the dealer according to my warranty. I don't think what my dealer charges for the labor end of things is all that much but I've always done my own so to speak and plan to do so with my tractor as well. The only thing, just common sense I guess is I'll be certain to save my receipts.

I performed my own 50 hr maintenance. It is more satisfying and you know how thorough you performed the maintenance rather than guessing or hoping your dealer covered everything. I asked my dealer if they would have to perform the maintenance in order to cover the warranty and they said no - the warranty would still be covered regardless of who did the maintenance. Most farmers around here do their own maintenance. It's simple and easy to do. Good luck which ever you decide.

In the middle of doing it myself on an L2800 HST. Don't know about the Bs, but you can certainly do it yourself, and its good education on your tractor. I found grease nipples I didn't know existed, and mine gets little enough use that I had it 3 yrs. before reaching 50 hrs. My only real frustration was with having the right-sized sockets for unusual sized-plugs: 24mm for the HST tranny drain and 1 3/16th? for the 4wd front end fill, plus different-sized spin on filters requiring mutiple strap filter wrenches. My suggestion: check all sizes so as to avoid multiple trips to the tool/parts store!

I didn't take my fel off - just raised it enough to get the hood up. Just make sure you are on level ground.

Un- fortunately a lot of dealers have gone to the Harley Davidson school of costumer relations,, By tell them that if you don't have ALL your maintenance done here by our highly trained and skilled tech, that will void your warranty if you do it your self,,
Do it your self, and become familiar with your toy, learn where everything goes and how it works, and when you wind up with an AWW SHYT,, (and you will) at least you have an idea what happened and how to fix it! If these guys in here came help ya then your in big trouble,
SO yes walk in to the dealer like you own the place and tell them I need,,X Y Z to do my 50, 200 hour maintenance and walk back out know,, that YOU CAN do it,,
ok Im done the coffee has just kicked in:eek:
