I just purchased a new LX3310 to celebrate my retirement / 65th birthday. I asked the dealer if I could get a simple pinned loader bucket instead of the skidsteer quick attach and the answer was no. There was something unsettling about the 2 redundant lever arms and I felt the need to put them to use. As you may have already guessed, I had the dealer deliver my tractor with a grapple and a Kubota 3rd function valve kit.
The installation on the 3rd function was relatively straight forward except the part when my wife and I looked for the "yellow" connector for the electrical harness. We had plenty of room to see and work as we held steadfast to find the yellow plug. All the images in the instructions lead us to a "green" plug which had the correct pinned connector. We completed the install with that connector and everything worked and completed the task with a happy dance. Ironically, it was April first and took the joke with a good sense of humor 🙄.
My question is, if anyone has some advise, is there a standard for the upper and lower buttons on the joystick regarding opening and closing the grapple?

First off , congrats on your retirement 65th bd and LX3310 tractor purchase!

I have a L2501 and Land Pride SGC 6060 and dealer installed Land Pride third function kit.
To me it made sense to have the "top" button raise the grapple lid, and the "bottom" button lower.
After a fair amount of time now on the grapple I do not even think about which button to use, closing or opening. I guess it boils down to repetition and muscle memory.

I was able to rotate the switch plate 45 degrees. that way the higher button is up on the grapple and the one to the left turns the snow plow left. I don't know if your switch plate can be moved.

I do not think it really matters what button does what as the quick connects installed by Kubota for the loader and third function have all the male connectors on the tractor. If you are not happy with the button operation you can just reverse the quick connects on the grapple. My last tractor had all hydraulic connections with opposite ends which made it impossible to hook it up wrong.

Thanks for the input! Up button, up grapple, that's intuitive, that's the way I'll learn.
