1640 Loader Control Valve

I am trying to find a replacement valve or repair parts for a 1640 loader. OE valve # 70050-01597. It has In, Out, and PB connections as well as the loader up & down and curl connections. The OE valve and parts are discontinued. I am having trouble with the bucket curl function. The valve will not spring load into neutral position. I have replaced the spring and the brass cup with another one that looked compatible does not seem to center itself correctly. Also will bleed down. Not sure if valve is rebuild able or If I could find a suitable aftermarket replacement. Any advice would be appreciated.

The curl/dump function leaks down. Also the valve will not center it self. I had replaced the spring and brass cup on the end of the valve sleeve and it was not exactly the correct part. The old part had rotted and the correct part is no longer available. I may be able to modify it to center correctly. I'm thinking a new aftermarket valve would be the easiest as the linkage is worn and will need to be re bushed/repaired as well. Not sure how to find the correct valve with the in, out, and pb connections? If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks !

The leakdown is probably caused by bad seals in the cylinders.

This Summit valve will drop right in. Make sure you get the power beyond sleeve in addition to the valve itself.

Thanks for the info. I contacted Summit and they gave me the same info. As to the cylinder sleeves I will address that if the valve does not totally fix the problem. Unfortunately those seal kits are also discontinued from Kubota. Have you had any experience with rebuilding those cylinders ? Are there aftermarket seal kits available ? Thanks again for your response !

Do you know if the factory quick disconnect couplers are 3/8 npt ? I was going to order the valve discussed in the above thread and would like to replace these couplers as well. Or if possible replace the o-rings inside the original couplers ?

My B1630 does not have couplers but lookimg at the B1640 parts book it appears two are 3/8 NPT and the tank return is 1/4. Should be easy to verify. You are in conyrol of the replumbing and can make it anything you want.

Can I resurrect this thread and ask a couple of similar questions? I have B1550 with the 1640 loader and the valve is broken. The lift function is not working and when the handle is released the handle would sag down and the bucket would slowly lift. I brought it to a hydraulic company and they said they would be able to fix it. That was a month ago. They called me today to tell me they couldn't get parts for it so they would have to order a new one. I don't have a lot of faith in them getting the right one and don't know if I am on their priority list so I figured I would try here. Can someone point me in the right direction and tell me if I can replace this valve in the picture? Should I start a new thread or stay on this one? Thanks in advance!

Dump those guys and buy a valve yourself. Any of the valves mentioned in this thread will eork.

That's what I was thinking. I know they are a bigger company but was disappointed when they said no problem, waited a month and then said no they couldn't do it. I also said it was a single joystick and they said it would now cost more. So this one should do it?

You need the PB sleeve and some adapters for the ports which are the same type but larger size.
