Hi all, this site was a great find. Looks like lots of useful info and tips.

So, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem please?

I have a 1550 with HST and bi-speed steering. I bought it second hand about a year ago. Its used for small field topping and has been a good reliable little tractor.

A couple of days after last using it I noticed a couple of pools of oil below the axle gear case/final drive units. The tractor had been sitting in the hot sun (for the UK!) and I suspected that the oil had thinned and found its way out of a seal. I could not find a photo of a 1550, but have 'borrowed' this from another forum. Its of a 1750, but it looks similar to mine and shows where the oil is coming from.

Today I drained the remaining oil, only to find that one side was dry! Its lucky that the tractor has done little work this year.

Could someone kindly quote the part numbers for the replacement seals? Is there more than one per side?

Is this a big job? I've not taken apart this kind of drive unit before.

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Opps! I did not realise the photo was so large, coming from another forum.

Sorry about that. Could a Moderator possibly resize?

My first post and I messed up!
