Hello gang. Yes, it's snowing and yes, I waited until the last moment to get ready for clearing it. At least I have the plow hooked up to the truck. Just got a Fisher Quick-Caster 300 for the tractor (rear standard h 2x2 hitch receiver on the 3 pt). Comes with a standard 7 blade female end on sander side. Ordered a 7 blade male connector from E-trailer for the tractor side. I have to rig up a 2 wire power supply cable from tractor to adapter. So, Fisher tells me it draws 30 amps (x 12 volts = 360 watts). What's the best place to pull the power cable from in my L6060 cab /c heavy duty alternator? I'm on the hill today and don't have access to my manual (which is sitting warm and dry in my filing cabinet at home).

I suppose the best answer would be to pull directly from the battery (with appropriate fuses at the terminals) but there is a 2 conductor L connector plug hanging out inside the cab coming from under the right side trim near the 3 pt hitch tilt/lift levers. Using this would reduce cable length and chances for a short. Wondering if anyone knows what the amp-pacity of this is? Also, I suppose I could pull from the 12V cig lighter plug but again, unsure of amp rating.

As always, thanks in advance. Thinking I'd like to work part time at a tractor dealer to learn this stuff when I retire.

30 amps? I'd pull it directly from the battery and add a relay to control it. Check your length to ensure you use a large enough wire.

Cig lighter plugs are usually 10 amps. I have seen a few 20s. I would not attempt 30.
