7040,Button halfway down loader control arm????

They light up very faintly and unless you are in semi-darkness you can't see it. The idea of the button is if you are using the loader without a third function attachment you should turn it off with the button. Purpose being so you don't accidently push the "up" or "down" button on the knob...

    M7040 skid plate

I agree. I'm afraid it's more about economics than overcoming recurring problems. Another example of this is automobiles and keys. In the next 5-10 years automobile keys will become obsolete. The only reason they are still offered is for operator peace of mind. They are not needed at all...

    M7040 skid plate

Yeah, first problem I had was brush unplugged one of the solenoids on my 3rd function valve. While I was fixing that I noticed one of the filters was dented. Freaked me out. Had this vision of being down in the timber somewhere and knocking a filter off!!! I built mine before I went back in...

    M9540 Hydraulic whinning

This is probably no help, but mine whines until the oil warms up. The colder it is the longer it takes to quit. I try to start it and let it warm a few minutes before using. Otherwise, I can't answer any of your questions. Will be curious to know the results though.

All things you will read about fluid ballast says to fill with the valve stem at 12 oclock and fill until the fluid reaches that level, which covers the wheel and minimizes corrosion...

    front tire chains for B3030

You'll hear all kinds of opinions about this. If all you are going to do with it is light work such as snow removal and you are just trying to prevent front tire skidding, I'd say you can mount chains and have no problems. I'd buy what is known as 2-link, straight crossbar, ice chains. They...

    M7040 skid plate

Good job on your skid. Takes some head scratching doesn't it!!! I built something similar for my M9540. As you can see in the attached pics I used expanded metal to protect the side near the filters. Easily removed with four 5/16 bolts, nuts welded to the screen brackets. The...
