I replaced the tach sensor on front of engine and had broken red/blk wire and I repaired it and tach is still not working?

I Replaced rotation speed sensor and also there was a break in the red/green wire and I repaired that wire, but still tach not working, the needle will jump just a little on tach cluster, when I turn on key switch, I am still tracing wires but look good so far?

I have a M9540 the tach went out , I check all the fuses with a test light and all were good, I checked wiring connector and wiring behind cluster panel and I checked the 1 ground wire as well, could it be a sensor or a broken wire?
