It’s surface rust from moisture as best I can tell. The tractor was delivered 2 weeks ago with an hour on it. I wasn’t thrilled to see that either.

The plate raises and lowers with the MMM mount. It is very easy to remove and reinstall.

In my case I don’t have a MMM, so the plate will be there all the time.
