What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Sounds like a real project, hopefully you have equipment for it next time you dig! A seasonal water feature would be a neat deal there. Its pretty dry here so I have to use some well water to keep my pond full. Opposite problem, but I love running water

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks, It's a pond and pump feeding the falls and stream. I have a 30x30x5ft upflow bog for filtration near the house. Then there's that first fall (the smaller one)

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks! Its a 200PGM pump pulling from a pond down below. The water goes through one more stream and fall before hitting the pond

    L-47 vs L4060

Very true, but like Fried1765 mentioned, In clay, its less than ideal and if you look at the picture i attached to my last comment, It's large volume dirt moving, so i need as big a bucket as possible. Ideally I'd have some 20+ ton excavator but not quite there yet

    L-47 vs L4060

After looking up specs, the backhoe bucket breakout forces are as follows. BH92 - 20kN M62 - 29kN Deere 310 - 40kN I understand the deere is a different animal but its my frame of reference as thats what's always available to rent. 29kN seems weak to me for the money

    L-47 vs L4060

Thanks for the insight, the backhoe strength is very important around here since our soil is dry clay so its rock hard most of the time. If I did spring for a full size machine, I would definately need that power. Even a deere 310 wasn't quite strong enough to dig here at a good speed when dry...

    L-47 vs L4060

Good point, I do like the lower weight of the l4060 but with the bh92, It's only 2,000 pounds lighter and I have a big enough truck to do 26k combined gvwr. Interesting thing is the M62 and L4060 both use the same wheels. I was comparing specs.

    L-47 vs L4060

Right, once the volume of work justifies it, I'll pull the trigger on something or multiple somethings. For now, the 4060+bh92 does everything fine and I can justify the costs maintaining my stuff even if it isn't producing income

    L-47 vs L4060

Right, the reach is a big deal for what i do (dig ponds/streams). I know the ideal tool is an excavator, and that might be where I end up going. Just info gathering at this point and I appreciate you sharing your experience!

    L-47 vs L4060

Agreed it,'s totally different. I just like to have all info I can If I'm looking into something. I'll dig on that for myself

    L-47 vs L4060

Thanks for the reply, m62 sounds like the way to go. Any input on costs to maintain it vs these smaller machines?

    L-47 vs L4060

That does help! That is a big upgrade. That KTAC is the same price as i paid for the 4060 which is interesting, but perhaps its just based on price of machine at purchase. The supplies for service seem high but I don't know what all you replaced. If I did all fluid and all filters it'd be close...

    L-47 vs L4060

I purchased a 4060 with BH92 for personal land management and some side work. Right now I'm perfectly happy but if my business took off, I'd be looking at the L47 or M62. I keep seeing L47s and M62s (with 700 or so hours) for sale at a used price lower than I paid all in with KTAC financed in...

We are getting there! My home is about 50% and the substation is starting. Diner is about 30%, some barns are back. I'm realizing how priceless large trees really are. The community has been amazing the whole time though! So many donations and plenty physical help. I've been able to help...
