    SEAT SWITCH

Works too and a bit easier. I preferred to have a choice.

    SEAT SWITCH

You can install a bypass rocker switch in an open slot if you have one. Common practice for things like running generators when you have a fixed seat vs. the tilt up. Did one on my L5460 when I put an air ride seat in.

    Bucket list? Fork-it list?

Things are pretty much annual patterns. Road grade/scrape April and September. Brush Hog May and July. Anything loader (bucket, fork, auger, grapple) needs to be done April through September as the loader gets dropped for the snow blower. In winter, a cargo deck goes on the 3-pt for fuel if...

Land Pride RCR 1860 - odd pin for top link ?

I just hook into the lower pivot (a little lube on the surface). When leveling, the pivot needs to be about halfway to allow mower flexing in the pasture. There's a number of Youtube videos showing this. An example is at 1:45 of this video

    Who makes batteries

My battery went bad on my 865R Gator. Accessibility is a real pain. I went with an Optima yellow top hoping to prolong having to do that job again. The varied LiFePo options out there are not cost effective. Overall battery life on my L5460 and Gator is longer due to indoor storage in the...

    Need seat including hardware.

Dealers frequently have new seats that were pulled to install air rides. Since they've already been paid for, you should be able to get them for a discount.

    Inflate rear tire with glycol

I've been using the standard beet juice. No worries if Elkzilla pokes a hole in the tire.

    LED Bulbs

I just finished swapping everything out on my L5460. H4 headlamps and H3s for the work lights. Autozone stuff (Osram) worked fine for signal. I did toss the top flashers for a heavy duty LED. BTW, the H4 dust cover interferes with the LED so an exacto knife took care of that. High output...

    Snow Blower Skids

Gravel always wins at some point. However, when floating the blower, it will tend to sink less into stuff and hopefully bridge over the small divots. We'll see.

    Snow Blower Skids

The stock skids on the Kubota blower have trouble with gravel roads and self destructed. I upgraded to an ARMORskids set which is much more heavy duty, 2 feet long, and much thicker steel. Should be much less likely to sink in.

    Snowblower and gravel roads

I had a JD 1025R with a blower on front. A few winters ago in -14 degree, I could do about 20 minutes and had to come in to warm up. Repeat and it took longer to warm up. The new set up has be doing in 45 minutes what used to take me 2+ hours. The blower is heavy and the skids need to be...

    Kubota Loaders

Yes and sometimes. On the Grand L series, you have to get up to a 5460 or 6060 to get the LA1055 loader. Only then does the calculations (tire size and beet juice, heavy load on the 3-pt, etc.) provide for the lifting capacity. That was important to me as this loader will pick up a one ton...

Fixing driveway ruts before it gets cold again, worth it?

The tribe has spoken. You can fill it with gravel, but that doesn't fix the pothole. When the ground thaws, a grader/scraper (with scrags) can be used to break down the wall of the pothole. The aggregate is remixed by the unit and no more pothole. Going over the road/drive before winter sets...

    Another hydraulic top link question

You'll use one of the rear remotes. Recommend going larger diameter on the cylinder if you have a choice, say 2.5 inches. I have a large Cat 1 on the block with a selectable 1/2 on the implement end made by Kubota. Problem is when you have a brush hog or any other heavy implement, the...

    Advice for new tractor

Basically, the seat "upgrade" relates to Kubota not offering it as a factory upgrade. They send the unit to the dealer with the basic seat. You're buying a new seat and paying for the swap out. I got blown up when I was 25 so the air ride is a notable improvement. WARNING. If your tractor...

    Advice for new tractor

You actually have two jobs. One is limited timeframe (construction) and the other is long term (maintenance). If you "size" for the first, you'll likely be overkill for the second. Also using the second for the first means you're teasing the job along vs. just getting it done. Consider...

I'll take all the help I can get!

First of all, size and outfit for what you need now, keeping in mind the size figure for the future. I had a 1025R JD. In -10 weather, the "massive' 18HP going to the front blower meant I was doing about five hours freezing the Gilhooleys off. I needed to put more years into my ability so...

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

Make sure you get one that's 32" extended, especially if you use a quick hitch. Also, the larger diameter, the better. Consider a cylinder with a blocking lever on it. The issue is when you have something like a brush hog in back and you're transporting it, the flexing torque on the top link...
