    New b2601 Hydro creeps forward

Wow, we have been having the same dreams except I am going to drill the hole farther to the dead end of the shaft and pump grease to the zerk end. Really similar to greasing the end of a chain saw bar.

    New b2601 Hydro creeps forward

I found discovered the grease fitting is on the wrong end of the shaft and w/o tearing the who thing apart, you cannot just change out the old grease. Very poor design!

    New b2601 Hydro creeps forward

I agree! The grease zerk is on the wrong end of the shaft to allow a change of grease through the entire shaft. I have watched the video of adding a second grease zerk and wondering if I can do this without pulling the entire shaft out. Drilling and tapping a new fitting should be fairly...

    New b2601 Hydro creeps forward

Thanks! Did think about this as the grease Kubota may have used gets too stiff in the cold weather. Had -21 last week. Going to pump it all out and replace with extreme cold temp grease.

    New b2601 Hydro creeps forward

My new 2601 with the trendle pedal . When released from forward, it remains in a very slow forward motion until I tap reverse or get my toe under the forward pedal. Why does it do this? 66 hrs on tractor and is possessed or just voodoo??

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

On the left side of the tractor (brake pedal side) you will see 3 springs, 2 vertical and one more horizontal behind the first 2. This one is the one I removed with just a small pair of vice grips. this spring is 2 or maybe 3 inches long.

    B 2601 front tire chains

I have a new 2601 with the new style tires. With my old JD 4100 I was advised to NEVER chain up the front industrial tires and it would wreck the front hubs. He was right as I paid three times for front hub repair. Anyone know of any issues with installing chains on the front tires of my 2601...

    Thinking of studding my R4's

These are what I use for the bottom soles of an older pair of work boots. Just 1/2 inch hex headed sheet metal screws, cheap and work well/

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

I removed the horizontal spring in front of the start safety switch completely. Very easy to do and then hosed the entire area with wd-40, and greased the shaft that is directly ahead. It seemed very dry and I can see why the guy on U-Tube drilled and tapped for additional zerks. After the...

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

J just did this same thing to my 2601 and it feels so much better. What is this switch for? Whatever but it still works and this is a tough spring. Will take it out after rainstorm and try it. Hope it is the ticket. Did Kubota just get a real good deal on springs and had to find a use for...

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

U-Tube has a video on changing out the reverse spring on the 2610 to a less stiff spring. I am going to try this tomorrow as my reverse is very, very hard to apply. Has anyone else done this change and did it work. If so, it's really worth the 3/4 bucks for a lighter spring.

Did it just as you suggested and it works perfect. Thank you very much!!

    B2601 seat switches

No not yet. Seat does not have the lever type switch and the service guy would not tell me how to disable the switch directly but insinuated that the jumper wire "might" work. I think he was telling me but not telling me. This is a brand new 2601 with a plunger type switch.

    B2601 seat switches

As I need to stand up to see what my snow blade is doing or not doing, I need to disable the seat as to not shut the tractor down every time I stand for a few seconds to look over the hood. Unplugging the wires to the center switch plunger does not work. Any thoughts?? Thanks much Richbob

    Thoughts on tire chains

With my JD 4100 I ripped the front hubs out 3 times due to chaining up the front end but with my Kubota 2601 I am not sure. Have the r41 tires so will find out. JD dealer told me never to chair the fronts, just let them slide a little.
