    Problem solved. I changed both battery cables. The positive cable clamp was cracked.

    tried jumping the safety start switch. same response. all dash lights go out when moving key to the start position does not turn over. lights do not come back on when key is moved back to on position. Is there a relay in the system that could cause this?

    I have a 1986 L2550 DT. It was running fine, I turned it off and went to start about a half hour later and it would not start. The lights would come on on the dash but the starter will not engage when the key is turned to the start position. When the key is returned to the on position no lights...
