Kubota Suddenly Running a Bit Warmer?

No problem with the joystick...it just seemed odd not to be lubricating it. We lubricate the backhoe controls once a year... Thanks.

Kubota Suddenly Running a Bit Warmer?

Thanks - very good advice. This machine is not used agriculturally - its used to move logs in our woodlot. The radiators always look essentially new. We're going to measure the temperature - still don't know why it changed one day to the next....

Kubota Suddenly Running a Bit Warmer?

No flush - the dealer had it in their shop and didn't think it was necessary. Any idea why a sudden change from one day to the next? Thanks.

Kubota Suddenly Running a Bit Warmer?

Thanks - we've ordered an infrared device. Fan belt is tight. Engine oil looks fine.

Kubota Suddenly Running a Bit Warmer?

We have a 2 year old Kubota M62 with about 400 hours on it. In all the time we've had it, the temperature has never gotten above about 1/3 of the measurement dial. We always assumed this was normal. Suddenly, from one day to the next, its temperature is right in the middle. This was surprising...

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Thanks. Attached is a picture of the fluid left in a jar for a few months – as you can see, there’s a whitish sediment layer at the bottom…

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

UPDATE I’m not gonna say this is the most fun we’ve ever had with a new tractor😊. To review: We noticed at about 200 hours that the hydraulic oil on our new M62 looked less translucent than we were used to - did an oil change and it looked pretty awful (see previous pictures). Sent it off...

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

We’ve been getting all the advice we can and I think the explanation from rScotty sounds right – “Kubota delivered without flushing or adequately flushing the hydraulic system”- we know that the dealer didn’t do most/all of the dealer prep because of other things that got missed. We’re doing...

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Just to clarify - the sizzle test was likely negative. I'm a bit confused by the recommendation to take apart the hydraulic system in a tractor still undeer warranty. Current plan is to change the fluid 3 times and then re-test.

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

No use of a pressure washer. FYI - first of what will be 3 changes of the hydraulic fluid completed. This will cost about $1000 :(....

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Update - sizzle test for water is between negative and 0.05 - 0.1% 500-1000 ppm. It was zero with Blackstone.

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

This tractor is garaged when not in use - but I wash it frequently, could that be the source of water contamination? How would it get in? The oil sample report is likely on the correct sample and had 0% water...but I'll do the hot skillet test as well. thanks.

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Lugbolt: Thanks - it sure sounds similar to our situation. Back in 2015 - did anyone have any idea as to the cause? PutneyMountain

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Thanks everyone. Additional Information: Tractor was purchased new – no previous owners. All maintenance done at the suggested hours. No use of hydraulically driven attachments. We’re very careful with the cleanliness of the hydraulic connectors when taking the backhoe off/on. Tractor get...

New(ish) Kubota M62 With Filthy Hydraulic Oil

Kubota M62 With High Insolubles in Hydraulic Oil We have a pretty new Kubota M62 with just about 200 hours. I was changing the hydraulic and transmission oil filters and took a look at the oil itself. It looked much dirtier than I had ever seen in our other machines. I could actually see...

    Buckets Dropping When Tractor Shut-off

This is apparently “normal” for at least some Kubota tractors. Someone posted the attached figure that shows the acceptable extensions for their curl ram. (4 inches in 15 minutes if it's self leveling) The clicking is because the drop is not completely smooth. Its a series of tiny drops that...
