Electric vehicles will be cheaper to produce than gas cars by 2027: report

The extra weight of EVs poses problems for existing infrastructure. Here are a couple examples discussing parking garages and guard rails. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/10/03/as-ev-sales-surge-and-cars-get-heavier-parking-garages-have-to-change.html...

    Speaking of Phones

I worked for a Japanese auto company in R&D until I retired. Cell phone usage in the lab area was OK in certain areas. No pictures were allowed from cell phones. You had to check out an approved camera from security to take pictures. In the R&D center in Japan where test vehicles were built...

    Multimeter question

Nice old Sears multi-meter. Fairly accurate. You could sell it on Ebay as a vintage tool. I have one that I bought from Radio Shack ~1983.

    What bugs you?

My 2016 Colorado has an annoying feature. Every so often, there is a message on the touch screen that says "You shouldn't take your eyes off of the road when driving". You have to touch the "OK" icon exactly right in the geometric center to clear it.

From your descriptions, it sounds like you are feverish. I wouldn't mess with any heavy equipment.

    2024 projects

Our wood stove pipe was 10" diameter, single wall from the stove to a ceiling junction, then triple wall from the ceiling to the top cap. I had to add another section of triple wall pipe due to roof height and down drafts. I burned dry wood November through March and cleaned the pipe out in...

Clearly I had no idea how to grease trailer wheel bearings that have zerk fittings.

Several years ago, I bought a HF foldable trailer kit. It folds and rolls on castors. I had to initially pack the hubs with lithium based grease. I bought bearing buddies and filled/ pressurized the grease through them.

    Identity Theft

I had to change my credit card number to avoid an auto payment to Kaspersky Anti Virus which I cancelled last year about this time. I have verification (screenshots) of the cancellation, but it somehow got reactivated and no obvious way to deactivate. I don't trust the Russians so much.

    Squirrel, I think! Grrrr….

What kind of squirrel? When we lived in suburban Detroit, we had problems with small red squirrels. I think they are called American Red Squirrels. They moved in the garage and wouldn't leave. I used my suburban pest control gun which was a Crossman pellet pistol to dispatch them over a few...

    Well Used Bush Hog

Lol, it fell off after hitting a big rock. I think his plan is to pound it back in shape with the help of a torch. After that, patch up where the blades went through with sheet metal. He just finished modifying the front end of a light duty rotary cutter.

    What Government Mandates Save Lives?

I read an insurance company report several years ago studying daytime running lights. Their study could not find any benefit. FWIW, GM developed DRLs and tried to lobby congress to make them mandatory; i.e., large royalty payments since GM owned the patents.
