L285 - Won't start, lights went out on dash, no blown fuses found

I bought a new regulator but put back on the old one. If I can't find something I will try and see if someone can look at the alternator/test. Thanks

L285 - Won't start, lights went out on dash, no blown fuses found

I don't think I was clear in my account of what happened. I had been using the tractor and turned it off. When I got back on and tried to start, it turned over but did not quite start. Afterwards the alternator charging indicator was no longer lit as it usually was when the key switch was on...

L285 - Won't start, lights went out on dash, no blown fuses found

It won't turn over, alternator indicator no longer illuminating. Quit while turning the engine over to crank, went dead just as it was starting and the lights quit immediately. Will look for a fuse link but there is a cable harness with a four pin molex plug with 4 small gauge wires...

L285 - Won't start, lights went out on dash, no blown fuses found

Went to start the tractor after using it all day, turned over then stopped. The alternator light on the dash no longer illuminates and I guessed (wrongly) and have changed out the regulator. I am wondering if the alternator might have gone bad. I have checked the fuses and all good, getting...

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

Replaced the fuel pump and I've ran it for several hours. Appears that the problem with diesel in the oil is fixed. Thanks for everyone's input. I wish I had posted sooner as it may have saved me some time and money buying a hydraulic pump I didn't need. Still much less hastle and cheaper than...

    Replacement hydraulic hoses

Where can I get the lowest cost hydraulic hoses? Some of mine are looking pretty rough and I would rather replace proactively than after they burst and spray my face. Thanks

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

Yes, I replaced the hydraulic pump thinking it was hydraulic fluid in my oil. After posting here, realized it was a different problem. Here are some additional pictures of my tractor as requested.

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

They tied the loader onto where the pressure relief valve is. I don't have a separate hydraulic pump. I'll get more pictures today. I appreciate the input I have gotten here and wish I had posted here prior to replacing a hydraulic pump I don't think needed replacing. Due to my lack of...

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

Here's a photo of where the loader attaches at the rear where the pressure relief is. I can take more tomorrow, is there something specific you want to see? It looks as if diesel is getting into the crankcase. I have ordered a fuel pump and will see if that fixes my problem. I also changed the...

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

What part would I need to get if that's the issue? Also want to add the oil gets thin and there is a pretty loud whine from the hydraulic system that quietens after it runs a while.

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

No, I am not sure and I'll have to look tomorrow. If it was diesel fuel, what would cause fuel to get in the crankcase?

Hydraulic fluid getting in crankcase L-285

Hydraulic fluid getting into crankcase and coming out the dipstick hole. Replaced oem hydraulic pump with aftermarket and it's doing same thing. I am not a mechanic but read that the only way that hydraulic fluid could get into the crankcase was if the seal in the pump was bad. If this is...
