BOHICA!!!!!!! Do you know what you win, when you play stupid games?

RWS, that is an awesome...yet awful...story. Kubota needs an award for being able to engineer these tractors to prevent, or at least discourage, all the DIY's. Good for you to find a way! Reminds me of the poem..."Somebody said it couldn't be done and I with a chuckle replied, "maybe it can't...

    Greasing your machine....The hate/hate relationship.

OK. I think I get the gist. Despite the fact that my machines do not generally get worked as hard as most, the loader and backhoe require a grease for extreme pressure. Stepping back from it, it makes sense. I think my hope at the time of asking the question was to get rid of this black...

    Greasing your machine....The hate/hate relationship.

My quandry is in the type of grease to use. WSM says multipurpose grease for tractor and MMM. Moly EP for both loader and backhoe. When I first got this thing, I bought two types of grease...the "red and tacky" as runs with scissors mentioned above and what I think was moly ep. The tube in...

    Greasing your machine....The hate/hate relationship.

I currently have 2 grease guns...one for backhoe and one for loader and other things. Would the Shell Gadus that Sundance mentioned above work for both applications? I'm getting a DeWalt 20V gun with a Locknlube and it would be nice to be able to use grease in it that would work for...

    Greasing your machine....The hate/hate relationship.

And, I use the old, strained T-shirts and jeans to wear when I work! It is not a pretty picture! TG

Can installing a new battery with high cranking amps be good or bad?

Thanks to the replies to my question about the manual specs for a battery. I, in my ignorance, bought a battery as specified. Had I known, I would've gotten more CCA. Oh, well...live and learn. I seem to be doing more of the former than the latter! TG

Can installing a new battery with high cranking amps be good or bad?

So, when the WSM provides battery specs with CCA, the number given is for minimal start power? If so, why do they suggest that? And, if that's the case, why don't they say miminal CCA. TG

    Premium UDT on sale

Forgive me, Hkb82...apparently I need new glasses. You clearly indicated that you picked up the items but it didn't register to me. Plus, your tractor is much larger than my own so it takes more of everything which was why I was stunned with the cost. Glad I can "go small." TG

    Premium UDT on sale

Just called the local Kubota dealer to ask about specials for Kubota fluids and filters. They've never heard of it! This sale must be a local thing. TG

    Premium UDT on sale

So, there's not labor charge in this $614? I'll have to hold my ground here. DIY would be less expensive unless your own labor is $160./ hr. :) TG

    Premium UDT on sale

That's certainly motivation to DIY! TG

What is the closing date for these specials? I'd like to try to get there. Thanks for posting. TG

    Multimeter question

I have a Ford 2N that is still 6V. Changing to a 12v never made sense to me so it has remained 6v. This is a wonderful tractor...been in the family for years...and still is like a Timex...takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'. I use it for some tasks and it is great. There is no loader or...

How do you get on the list to get a mailer? I've bought plenty of stuff and they have my address. TG

    Premium UDT on sale

Sadly, it appears that some dealerships are not consumer driven. In fact, I was at the local dealership when I first got this used tractor. I was buying parts, fluids, etc., so it wasn't a "cheap" purchase. It was nearing closing time...maybe 30 minutes prior to close...and I had a question...

    Multimeter question

I've seen that brand so it's good to know that it works. There are two problems with taking the battery somewhere for a test. It's not convenient...and they make mistakes. So, while I think investing in a costly tester, it may be wise to have something. At least it would be a start when the...

    Multimeter question

You could if you had two 6v batteries! That's not the case here. Actually, with the cost of batteries, I'm doing well to have one! :) Thanks for trying. TG

    Multimeter question

A charger-maintainer-conditioner style battery charger is a thought. I need a 6v/12v and finding that has been "iffy." There are some and I have a regular charger but it's not automatic. Too much trouble to monitor! Thanks for the idea. TG

    Multimeter question

This makes sense, jaxs, especially charge to 12.5v, remove negative cable and check voltage the next morning. Thanks for the thoughts. TG
