    L2501 HST 4x4 transmission/hydraulic fluid question

Getting ready to do my initial 50 hr service. I’ve purchased the filters kit and now looking up specs on transmission fluid and hydraulic fluid. The owners manual is a little confusing. 1) Under capacities it shows 6.2 gallons of transmission fluid for a 2WD but nothing listed for the 4x4. How...

    Tarter 6' Landscape Rake

I have a 5 ft. Rake that I’ve been using for multiple jobs. Smoothing out the gravel part of the driveway, getting rocks out of the front ditch so I can smooth it out and plant grass and most of all to rake up all the 30yrs. Worth of old pine straw under the pines. I had to add a little weight...

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

No pics yet but just picked up a 6-1/2’ x 16’ double axle trailer to replace my 6’ x 12’ single axle trailer. Just didn’t feel safe putting my L2501 on the single axle

    Fuel can options

Thanks all for the suggestions. I started with the little yellow old style vent tabs. I’ve installed them on all of my plastic fuel cans. I’ll see how they work before I replace them all.

    Fuel can options

I had some of the old style nozzles still in the plastic but they seem to be a different size. Tried to screw one of them on and when it starts to get tight, it pops off. I did however buy some of the plastic old style vent caps like the ones you show.

    Fuel can options

Although my question isn’t a maintenance question, who has a better fuel can option than the very awkward new non-vented cans on the market today. Filled mine for the first time since delivery and it was a royal pain in the back trying to stand on the front right tire and propping against the...

    Poor man’s bucket level indicator

It’s just got 2. The bottom holds the pivot and the top holds the eye bolt. The rod just slides through the eyebolt when the bucket moves. There is a bend in the rod at the level point.

    Poor man’s bucket level indicator

The L2501 has a cup holder with cutout for a coffee cup handle. WTH I can’t keep a bottled water in there without it bouncing out. Can’t imagine an open coffee mug.

    Replaced factory tool box

The bottom of the can is mostly chain I use for dragging downed trees to my burn pile. Everything else is tucked away in three separate flat leather tool pouches with Velcro flaps so I’m not having to hunt for stuff in the bottom.

Lol. Everybody has their own view of things. I do the things that work for me and they may not work for anyone else.

Lol on the parking brake. I have found I get my foot caught on it anyway which knocks it loose for me

    Replaced factory tool box

That cheap plastic tiny box had to go. I used the same brace and bolted in an ammo can I repainted.
