I bought a new 2019 MX5800 and my front axel fluid was WAY low- as were many others based on other posts. That said, if it was my tractor, I would change the fluid and replace with Super UDT2. Keep in mind that I am an "ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure" kind of person.

Unless I was looking at the wrong one, and some of the videos I watched were incorrect, not on the MX5800. I could use a socket on 3 of the 4 plugs. However, the one towards the front of the tractor required a hex wrench.

Update on this topic. I changed the oil myself this time with Mobil Delvac 15W-40 oil. It was clear as it was in the jug after I checked it on the dipstick. However, after ~7 hours it started to darken.

tawood, I got my new R1's on my tractor last weekend and love them- no comparison to my R4's for how I use my tractor. It was an expensive lesson, but I am glad I 'bit the bullet' now.
