    L3710 GST clutch operation

I am glad to find out a month into owning it, as my main concern was also unnecessarily wearing out the clutch. Not using the clutch that much will be a nice thing to get used to. I intended for this to be a 5 year tractor, but so far I like it so much that I might keep it even if I end up with...

    L3710 GST clutch operation

Thanks! Our tractors are about the same age, so they should work the same way. I do come to a complete stop before changing directions, as I realized right away that those gears mean business.

    L3710 GST clutch operation

I recently acquired an L3710 GST, and although I've only used HST in the past, I am getting used to the GST pretty easily. The previous owner used the clutch to switch between forward and reverse, so I faithfully pressed the clutch so far to move the shifter to neutral, then forward or...

    B7800 Parker Racor filter installation

Looked at the parts list on the B7800 and that smaller line on top of the fuel filter assembly is a fuel line, not a vent line. It goes close to the top of the fuel tank, next to another 1/4" line that goes to the injector closest to the fuel tank. This probably explains why fuel kept coming...

    B7800 Parker Racor filter installation

finally found the thread size on that vent plug on the Racor web site (3/8-24). I knew it wasn't 1/8 NPT as I already tried that. Now the challenge is to find an angled hose barb with that thread (Home Depot didn't have it).

Thanks! I was wondering about that :)

    B7800 diesel oil

For whatever reason all the Diesel oils at Walmart were one gallon in size instead of 5 quarts, except the Motorcraft. They had the Rotella T6, Mobil Delvac and a couple more - all 15W40. Will look at o'Reillys for the 10W30 Delvac

    B7800 diesel oil

Thank everyone! I will be using the tractor in cold weather as well, but probably not below freezing (in TN), so I will look for the 10W30 diesel oil then.

    B7800 diesel oil

I am about to change the motor oil on my (new to me) B7800 and after reading about oil recommendations on the web I bought a gallon of Mobil Delvac Super Heavy Duty 1300 15W40 oil. When I look at the WSM (which I should have done first) it shows 10W30 or 10W40. Is that plain old motor oil...

    B7800 Parker Racor filter installation

Hello everyone, I bought a Parker Racor 120AS diesel filter assembly to replace the factory filter so I can check and drain any water easier on the B7800. I will also install a shutoff valve before the filter. The inlet and outlet hose barbs were easy to find (1/4 NPT I believe), but I can't...

    B7800 clutch safety switch

Finally received new relay (Kubota OEM part T1060-33720)) and that was it! Glad I looked at the wiring as it needed some fixin' I replaced the uninsulated wire sections, and wrapped+ covered the other wire bundles. AND I learned how to adjust the clutch and the brakes while I was at it...

    B7800 solenoid question

It looked like the insulation was just chewed off the wires, but they didn't look burned. Just received the new Kubota start relay and it cranked right up :) I cranked it up about a dozen times. So it looks like it was the relay, but I am glad I opened it up because those bare wires would...

    B7800 solenoid question

I ran the relay test from page 362 of the WSM and I am getting 84 Ohms so according to the WSM the relay is bad. Looking forward to the new relay! UPDATE on the orange blades on the relay... from looking at a few internet pics, two of the blades are supposed to look orange, so they are not...

    B7800 clutch safety switch

Thanks! I posted a separate question on the solenoid and it looks like I may have found the culprit... wires going to the relay touching each other. Not sure why pressing the clutch repeatedly would have ever helped start the motor, but after adjusting the clutch, the tractor has not started...

    B7800 solenoid question

Thanks again everyone! Yesterday I took the plastic housing off (with the instrument cluster) and found some very shoddy electrical repair (electrical tape partially covering wires where the insulation was probably chewed off by mice). All four of the wires going to the start relay were chewed...

    B7800 solenoid question

Thank you very much! So if I remove the solenoid completely should fuel flow to the injectors? From looking at the WSM it appears I should have used a liquid gasket to install the WSM, so I will remove the new solenoid and test it as well. Does the solenoid body have to touch the engine body...

    B7800 solenoid question

Hello everyone, When I try to start a B7800 should the center pin of the stop solenoid extend or retract while I am cranking the engine? I had posted another thread where I was suspecting the clutch safety switch, but since that did not seem to be the problem, I replaced the solenoid last...

    B7800 clutch safety switch

Well... replaced solenoid and still cranking but no start. Would a relay be next? I think the previous owner said he replaced the starting relay, but if he used a cheap knockoff relay I guess it could go bad soon. Tried moving the levers around and it looks like the cranking stops when I move...

    B7800 clutch safety switch

Thanks - I did have a problem with the solenoid shutting off one time so I just ordered a new Kubota solenoid. I had previously ordered an off brand and it didn't even fit so I returned it. I am learning that I should not even bother with off brand parts :)

Is the OPC the operator presence switch under the seat?
